The psalm is careful about where blessing comes from. Not from armies, not from horses, not from the size of a treasury; from whose the people are. That's a sobering and hopeful word for any country. Our hope was never in a government, and our responsibility is to be the kind of people who belong to the Lord, wherever we live.
