2 Chronicles 7:14

“If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.”

Where it comes from

God's answer to Solomon after the temple was dedicated. The promise is conditional and it is addressed first to God's own people.

What it means

It is tempting to read this verse as a demand on everyone else. It is addressed to "my people." Healing for a land begins with the humility, prayer, and repentance of those who already belong to God. That's a weightier invitation than pointing fingers, and a more hopeful one.
